The short version

Rimshot doesn't collect, store or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. What you do in the app stays on your iPhone.

What the app stores

Your shows and settings are saved on your device only. We never receive a copy. Like other app data, they may be included in your device backups, which Apple handles under your own backup settings.

Microphone

The tuner asks for microphone access so it can hear the note you're playing. Audio is analyzed in real time on your iPhone to work out the pitch. It is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere.

You can turn microphone access off at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone. The metronome and shows work without it.

Sharing shows

When you share a show, it goes only to the people or places you choose. We don't receive or keep a copy.

Analytics, ads and tracking

Rimshot contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and it doesn't track you across other apps or websites.

If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may pass along anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. These don't identify you, and you can turn them off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

Children

Rimshot doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

This website

getrimshot.com doesn't use cookies, analytics or third-party scripts. It remembers whether you picked light or dark mode in your browser's local storage, which never leaves your device. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and reliability.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
